Abstract Guidelines

We would like to thank all contributors who submitted their research to GSC 2020.

The deadline for abstract submissions has now closed.

The presenting author of an abstract must be registered by December 20, 2019.

Notification of acceptance

Notifications of acceptance or rejection of the abstracts will be sent to the corresponding author (the submitter) of the abstract by November 27, 2019 at the latest.

The corresponding author receives all correspondence concerning the abstract. The corresponding author is responsible for informing all other co-authors of the status of the abstract. In order to receive confirmation, please ensure that emails from are not marked as spam by your e-mail provider.

All abstract presenters will be asked to reconfirm their attendance after receiving the notification. If you don't reconfirm your abstract presentation, register and pay the registration fee before December 20, 2018, your abstract will be cancelled.

Presentations of abstracts
The submission of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the presenting author to present the abstract (if accepted) orally or as e-poster in the session and the time assigned by the GSC Executive Program Committee. Abstract submission will be only accepted in English but the selected abstracts can be presented on-site in Spanish, Portuguese or in English. 

Publication of abstracts
Accepted abstracts will be published online in the Global Spine Journal.

Abstract awards
All abstract presenters are automatically entered in the competition of the Abstract Awards. There are two awards. The winners will be announced on-site. The awards will be sent electronically after the congress.

E-Poster Guidelines

The submitted Electronic Posters (e-posters) will be displayed during the congress on screens located within the Exhibition area.

How to upload your E-poster

E-posters should be uploaded on a dedicated web platform by May 11, 2020. Presenters will receive an email with a link and password by March 11, 2020 to access the web platform and upload their presentation.

 - Orientation: Landscape (in PDF, only one-page, max 10MB)
 - 16/9 ratio PowerPoint
 - E-posters should be written in English

The best e-poster selected by the Scientific Program Committee, will be awarded with the Best Poster Award. The Award Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 18.00.

Conflict of interest

Trade names

Only generic names for drugs, tools, deans, etc. may be used and must not refer to any trade name.

Release Policy – Declaration:

By confirming the presentation of your abstract, you are confirming the release policy – declaration:

“I grant AO Spine, the Global Spine Congress organizer, the right to use the media, biographical information and information including, without limitation, the right to edit, promote, copy and advertise all such items in any educational, editorial, broad-cast or other program or material whatsoever. The authors will be acknowledged on use of such materials. 

I hereby release and hold harmless AO Spine and any of their principals, agents, servants, employees, officers, directors, licensees, distribution and/or editing personnel in the use whatsoever of such items as listed above.

I acknowledge and agree that I am entitled to no compensation for the use of such materials.

The consent and releases granted herein are worldwide and without time limitations.

This document shall form a part of any agreement between the undersigned for the purposes described above.”
